It is the mission of Tantrum East to bring new stories to the stage, screen, street or cellphone that have never been experienced before, that subvert our expectations as audience members, and that actively represent the stunning diversity of the human experience. We seek to enable the telling of those stories by providing a fiercely artist-centric environment in which our artists feel free to fail and try again. We want to introduce new voices to a loud world and help make them heard.

Founded in 2018, Tantrum East was created with the single goal of showcasing the works of Ohio University School of Theater alumni in New York. We realized we had access to scripts, actors, directors, designers, and the desire to organize. Beginning with Bobsnacks: A Night of Stories where members of an OU Playwright alumni writing group were able to have excerpts of their work read by actors in front of an audience, we have moved on to produce staged readings. Eventually, TE would like to fully stage productions and continue to work in other forms of new media.

To date, we are humbled by the support we have received from friends, family, and fellow Bobcats – without which – we would be unable to really make any of this happen. If you care to join our Bobcat family please feel free to do so here!

Thank you for stopping by!
